Swimming Classes
At our swimming club, we are proud to use the STA International Learn to Swim Programme to guide our young swimmers through their aquatic journey. This comprehensive programme is designed to ensure that children not only learn to swim, but also develop a love of the water and a solid foundation for water safety.
We start with the Octopus Series, which is perfect for beginners. Here children learn the basics of swimming, including water confidence, floating and basic strokes. As they progress, they earn their Octopus badges, which are a great way to celebrate their achievements and keep them motivated.
Next, we move on to the Goldfish Series where children build on their skills and begin to swim longer distances. They learn more advanced techniques and begin to develop their endurance. The Goldfish badges mark their progress and encourage them to keep improving.
Once they have mastered the Goldfish series, our swimmers progress to the Angelfish series. Here they refine their swimming strokes, learn new skills such as treading water and increase their swimming distances. The Angelfish badges are a testament to their growing skills and commitment.
The final stage of the basic programme is the Shark Series. At this stage, the children become proficient swimmers, able to swim long distances with excellent technique. They also learn important water safety measures and rescue techniques.
Kingfisher and Dolphin Series
In addition to the core series, our swimming club also offers the Kingfisher and Dolphin Series, which provide our young swimmers with further opportunities to develop their skills and confidence in the water.
The Kingfisher Series is designed for swimmers who have completed the basic levels and are ready to take on more advanced challenges. In this series, children focus on refining their strokes, improving their technique and increasing their swimming distances. They will also learn important water safety skills and rescue techniques. The Kingfisher badges are awarded to swimmers as they reach each milestone. This gives them a sense of achievement and motivates them to keep progressing.
The Dolphin Series is the next step for our advanced swimmers. This series focuses on competitive swimming skills, including starts, turns and finishes, as well as advanced swimming techniques. Swimmers in the Dolphin series also work on building their endurance and speed in preparation for competitive swimming events. The Dolphin badges recognise their hard work and commitment and serve as proof of their advanced swimming skills.
The Advanced Swimmer series
Is where our swimmers truly shine and take their skills to the next level. This series is designed for those who have completed the foundational levels and are ready to tackle more challenging and competitive aspects of swimming. There are 4 badges Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.
Each badge in the Advanced Swimmer series represents a significant milestone in a swimmer’s journey, showcasing their dedication, hard work, and progress. These badges not only motivate swimmers to keep improving but also provide a clear path for their development in the water.
